Welcome to 2012. At this time of year people are consumed with their new years resolutions, and within 6 weeks or so they have fallen by the wayside, that includes me I am sorry to say. Well this year I am trying something a little different. Oh I am still making resolutions don’t get me wrong. I have decided to deal with them in a different way. So far I am happy to say it is working for me.
I am setting resolutions one at a time within myself, not telling anyone (I know that is hard for me to do). Now when I complete the resolution, that is when I announce it. It has a sense of pride this way. I find more self satisfaction that I completed this task that I have set upon myself, and if I don’t succeed, I only disappoint myself.
As an Artist it is hard for me to complete tasks, stay focused, stay organized etc. etc. Yes I am admitting this horrifying fault of mine, and because of these particular flaws of mine, I chose this different approach to my resolutions.
I am proud to say I have completed my first one, wait for it, a drum rollllll please…….
I HAVE QUIT SMOKING! Yes I did it finally after 34 years I have quit. I have not had a cigarette since Christmas Day……….I am now taking a bow….there is something different about not telling anyone and then suddenly, when it has been a week or two you say I don’t smoke anymore, and they say wow come to think of it, you haven’t smoked.
On the Artist front I have been trying new things, experimenting and doing a lot of research, expanding my mediums, and merging them with the old. This will all make sense when I rise from the laboratory haha.
In my new blog I will be showing lots of picture, releasing my class schedule, and HOPEFULLY completeing more resolutions to be announced.
But for now spend time with your loved ones and expand your creative mind.
